From September 22 to 25, 2026, CSTO Secretary General Talatbek Masadykov will take part in the High-Level Week of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly in New York. Meetings between Talatbek Masadykov and UN Secretary-General António Guterres and his deputies are scheduled. The meetings are expected to address a wide range of current issues, in particular, peacekeeping and counter-terrorism.
On September 23, Talatbek Masadykov will take part in the traditional annual meeting of the foreign ministers of the CSTO member states, held on the sidelines of the General Assembly of the world organization.
Today, the active phase of the joint exercise with the Collective Rapid Deployment Forces of the Central Asian Region (CRDF CAR) “Frontier-2026” concluded on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
During the “Conduct of combat operations” stage, two main training objectives are being practiced: the occupation by the national contingents of the CRDF CAR of the area of responsibility and the destruction of illegal armed formations that have invaded the territory of a CSTO member state.

On 19 September, in the Kyrgyz Republic, at the “Edelweiss” training center, the Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff, Colonel General Andrey Serdyukov, together with the First Deputy Minister of Defense of the Kyrgyz Republic, Major General Erlis Terdikbayev, familiarized themselves with the organization of work at the command post of the Collective Rapid Reaction Forces of the Central Asian region (CAR CRDF) deployed as part of the “Rubezh-2025” training.
Colonel Altynbek Tynaev, Commander of the CAR CRDF, reported on the main tasks assigned to military contingents and special forces units, as well as issues related to coordination, comprehensive support and management.
The CAR CRDF command worked through all the necessary issues and confirmed its readiness for the final stage of the training – commanding CAR CRDF units in blocking and destroying illegal armed groups, which will take place on 20 September.
The “Rubezh-2025” command and staff training is being held at the “Edelweiss” training center and in the waters of Lake Issyk-Kul under the supervision of Colonel Almaz Kozhoshev, head of the Main Directorate for Daily Activities of the Armed Forces of the Ministry of Defense of the Kyrgyz Republic. The training is aimed at practicing the preparation and conduct of combat operations by the CAR CRDF to destroy illegal armed groups that have invaded the territory of a CSTO member state.
Military contingents from the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Russia, the Republic of Tajikistan, operational groups from the Joint Staff and the CSTO Secretariat are participating in the “Rubezh-2025” training. The Russian contingent is mainly made up of servicemen from the Central Military District's 201st military base. The total number of training participants is about 1,200 people and 500 pieces of military and special equipment, including aircraft, helicopters, UAVs, and combat boats.
