During the “Conduct of combat operations” stage, two main training objectives are being practiced: the occupation by the national contingents of the CRDF CAR of the area of responsibility and the destruction of illegal armed formations that have invaded the territory of a CSTO member state.
The active phase of the joint exercise with the Collective Rapid Deployment Forces of the Central Asian Region (CRDF CAR) “Frontier-2026” has begun at the Koktal training range in the Republic of Kazakhstan. During the exercise, the participating forces are practicing the preparation and conduct of combat operations to destroy illegal armed formations that have invaded the territory of a CSTO member state.
On September 11, 2026, a round table entitled “Kazakhstan–Central Asia–Greater Eurasia: resilience and security amid new challenges” was held at the Center for Social Conservative Policy. The event was organized by the CSTO Secretariat jointly with the Institute of China and Contemporary Asia of the Russian Academy of Sciences (ICCA RAS) and the Center for Social Conservative Policy (CSCP).
The event was attended by CSTO Secretary General Talatbek Masadykov, Director of the ICCA RAS Kirill Babaev, members of the CSTO Permanent Council and representatives of the academic and expert communities of the member states. The discussion was moderated by Yuri Shuvalov, Head of the Information and Public Relations Department of the CSTO Secretariat.
At the meeting of the CSTO Permanent Council, a draft agenda of the upcoming May meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Organization was made up
April 11th of this year,a meeting of the Permanent Council of the Collective Security Treaty Organization was held under the chairmanship of Aman Mambetseitov, the Permanent and Plenipotentiary Representative of the Kyrgyz Republic, in which Valery Semerikov, the acting Secretary General of the CSTO, took part.
The draft agenda of the meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, scheduled for May 22, 2019 in Bishkek was reviewed and formed. It was decided to send the document for approval by the Chairman of the CSTO CFM to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The Permanent Council considered the draft Decision of the CSTO Collective Security Council providing for amendments to the Regulations on the Organization’s Council of Ministers of Defense, as well as draft decisions of the Council of Ministers of Defense and the Committee of Secretaries of the CSTO Security Councils concerning the joint preparation of the governing bodies and forces and means of the collective security system of the Collective Security Treaty in 2019-2020 years. It was decided to send these documents to the statutory bodies of the CSTO.
The question of the participation of the consolidated unit of the armed forces of the member states of the Collective Security Treaty Organization in the military parade dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War was also considered. The draft decision of the CSTO Council of Ministers of Defense is in internal coordination.
