CSTO Secretary General Talatbek Masadykov and ambassadors of the Organization’s member states also took part in the event.

On 12 February, a briefing was held at the CSTO Crisis Response Center by Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff Colonel General Andrey Nikolaevich Serdyukov on the topic “Results of the joint training of command and control bodies and forces of the CSTO collective security system in 2025 and tasks for 2026.”

On 11 February 2026, a meeting took place at the CSTO Secretariat between CSTO Secretary General Talatbek Masadykov and Director of the Institute of State and Law of the Russian Academy of Sciences Alexander Savenkov. The meeting was also attended by Head of the Information and Public Relations Department of the CSTO Secretariat Yuri Shuvalov and Chief Research Fellow of the Institute of State and Law of the Russian Academy of Sciences Alexey Alexandrov.

Today, in the Kyrgyz Republic, at the “Edelweiss” training center, as part of command and staff training with the Collective Rapid Deployment Forces of the Central Asian Region (CAR CRDF) “Rubezh-2025”, Colonel Altynbek Tynaev, commander of the CAR CRDF and representative of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic, reported the decision to conduct combat operations to block and destroy illegal armed groups in mountainous terrain on the territory of a CSTO member state.

The Decision defines the areas of focus for the main efforts, the main tasks for military contingents and special forces units, and the main issues of cooperation, comprehensive support and management.

After the decision was approved, the CAR CRDF began planning combat operations and organizing coordination. As part of the training, combat orders were issued to subordinate formations and military units.

The “Rubezh-2025” command and staff training is being held at the “Edelweiss” training center and in the waters of Lake Issyk-Kul under the supervision of Colonel Almaz Kozhoshev, head of the Main Directorate for Daily Activities of the Armed Forces of the Ministry of Defense of the Kyrgyz Republic. The training is aimed at practicing the preparation and conduct of combat operations by the CAR CRDF to destroy illegal armed groups that have invaded the territory of a CSTO member state.

Military contingents from the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Russia, the Republic of Tajikistan, operational groups from the Joint Staff and the CSTO Secretariat are participating in the “Rubezh-2025” training. The Russian contingent is mainly made up of servicemen from the Central Military District's 201st military base. The total number of training participants is about 1,200 people and 500 pieces of military and special equipment, including aircraft, helicopters, UAVs, and combat boats.
