Today, at the Losvido training range in Belarus, the CSTO Collective Peacekeeping Forces Commander was presented with a mandate to conduct a peacekeeping operation at the command post as part of the “Indestructible Brotherhood-2026” command-and-staff exercise.

Colonel Alexey Yelfimov, Commander of the CSTO Collective Peacekeeping Forces and a representative of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus, organized the work of officials of the Joint Command of the Collective Peacekeeping Forces to assess the situation and develop the concept for the upcoming joint actions. In the afternoon, the concept for the peacekeeping operation was approved.

The concept defines the areas where the main efforts are to be concentrated, the tasks assigned to peacekeeping units, and matters related to coordination, comprehensive support and command and control.

While presenting the concept, Colonel Alexey Yelfimov said, in particular:

“Based on an analysis of the current situation and the mandate received, I have decided to focus the main efforts on creating conditions for a just and peaceful settlement of the conflict.

The peacekeeping tasks are to be carried out in three stages.

At the first stage, the Collective Peacekeeping Forces will occupy their area of responsibility, separate the opposing sides, ensure a safe environment in the crisis area and isolate the area of responsibility.

At the second stage, the CSTO Collective Peacekeeping Forces will monitor the area and the activities of the population, guard and defend critical infrastructure facilities, establish comprehensive protection zones, and ensure the safe transit of all types of transport and the functioning of communications.

At the third stage, the main focus will be on transferring critical infrastructure facilities and the area of responsibility to the local authorities.”

At the same time, units at the training range began tactical training sessions focused on their forthcoming actions as part of the CSTO Collective Peacekeeping Forces.

The Republic of Belarus is hosting the command-and-staff exercise with the CSTO Peacekeeping Forces “Indestructible Brotherhood-2026” and the special exercise with the CSTO joint NBC protection and medical support formation “Barrier-2026”.
