15.07.2019On July 17, this year, the CSTO Acting Secretary General Valery Semerikov will be the keynote speaker at the plenary session of the Forum for Security Cooperation of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe on the theme “The CSTO activities in support of OSCE commitments to ensure military-political aspects of security”.
The upcoming meeting is initiated by the currently chairing the Forum of the Republic of Tajikistan, which motivated its invitation to the keynote speaker that “the CSTO plays a crucial role in maintaining close cooperation and understanding in the military-political field in its region of responsibility”.
The meeting will be held in Vienna at the Hofburg Palace.
The Forum for Security Cooperation (FSC) was established in 1992 by the decision of the Helsinki meeting of the Conference on Security and Cooperation in Europe. It is an independent OSCE body with the authority to discuss military-political issues, including disarmament, arms control, confidence-building measures and take politically binding decisions on them. The Forum meets in Vienna weekly at the level of state representatives.
