The Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization congratulated officers of the CSTO Joint Staff on Defender of the Fatherland Day 21.02.2025

Today the Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization Imangali Tasmagambetov congratulated the personnel of the CSTO Joint Staff on the Defender of the Fatherland Day.

Imangali Tasmagambetov, congratulating the officers, said in particular: “In the CSTO, the key tasks in planning the use of the Collective Forces, preparing and conducting joint training activities, military-technical cooperation, coordinating the training of personnel and specialists, and organizing the functioning of the Crisis Response Centre are entrusted to the Joint Staff. And they are being successfully accomplished thanks to the professionalism, responsibility and determination of the servicemen of the armed forces of all the Organization's member states serving on the Joint Staff”.

“Accept sincere words of gratitude for diligent military labor, diligence and high sense of official duty. Good health, successes and new professional achievements. Happiness and well-being to you and your loved ones,” the Secretary-General of the Organization said.

Colonel General Andrei Serdyukov, Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff, speaking at the solemn event, noted in particular that “February 23 has become a symbol of unity among the defenders of the Fatherland. We are proud of the heroic pages of this history, of the courage, fortitude and intrepid character of many generations of soldiers and officers, of all those who fought for the Motherland and ensured the security of the state”.

Colonel General Andrei Serdyukov said: “It is important to note that 2025 in Russia has been declared the Year of the Defender of the Fatherland. The decision was made by the President of the Russian Federation in order to preserve historical memory, to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941 - 1945, in gratitude to veterans and recognizing the feat of the participants of the special military operation”.

“I wish veterans, servicemen and all those who are still preparing themselves for hard military work good health, peace, prosperity and further successes in strengthening the might of the Fatherland and increasing the military potential of

the Collective Security Treaty Organization,” the CSTO Chief of Joint Staff said.
