The Collective Security Treaty Organization Secretariat learned with deep sorrow of the untimely death of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Chairman of the CSTO Council of Foreign Ministers Vladimir Vladimirovich Makei.
In all the positions he held, Vladimir Makei proved to be a staunch patriot of his homeland, an active supporter of strengthening the position of the Republic of Belarus in the international arena, a mediator of the ideas of military and political integration in the Eurasian region.
We sincerely grieve and express our condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.
