From June 24 to 26, second staff talks were held in the Republic of Kazakhstan on the organization and conduct of the joint exercise “Rubezh-2026” with units of the Central Asian Collective Rapid Deployment Forces (CAR CRDF).

On June 23, 2026, a ceremonial event was held at the Advanced Training Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation to mark the 20th anniversary of the CSTO Collective Security Council's decision granting the Institute the status of the Basic Educational Institution for Continuing Professional Education of law enforcement and special service personnel of the CSTO member states in the fields of counterterrorism, combating extremism, illicit drug trafficking, illegal migration, and other forms of transnational organized crime, as well as for the training of specialists for peacekeeping missions and teaching staff of educational institutions.

The CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zas met in Yerevan with the Secretary of the Security Council of the Republic of Armenia Armen Grigoryan.

The issues of increasing the effectiveness of the joint fight against terrorism and the fight against illicit trafficking in drugs and psychotropic substances were discussed.

The issue of settlement in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone was also discussed. Stanislav Zas once again confirmed the position of the CSTO that there is no alternative to a peaceful settlement of the conflict. Armen Grigoryan, in turn, presented the situation on the contact line of the armed forces of Armenia and Azerbaijan. He also stressed the need to resolve the Karabakh issue exclusively by peaceful means, noting in this the importance of the CSTO position.

The CSTO Secretary General presented a number of programs planned and already implemented within the Organization, including the preparation of anti-terrorism and military trainings.
