A working meeting between CSTO Secretary General Talatbek Masadykov and Vasily Khristoforov, Director of the Institute of International Relations and Political Sciences of the Russian State University for the Humanities (RSUH) and Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, was held at the Secretariat of the Collective Security Treaty Organization.
On June 12, 2026, a conference entitled “Central Asia – the Core of the SCO: A Space of Peace and Shared Development” was held in Dushanbe under the auspices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan. Acting CSTO Deputy Secretary General Samat Ordabayev took part in the event.
On June 10, 2026, a regular meeting of the CSTO Council of Foreign Ministers was held in Kazan (Russian Federation) under the chairmanship of the Russian side, with the participation of CSTO Secretary General Talatbek Masadykov. CIS Deputy Secretary General Denis Trefilov and SCO Deputy Secretary General Oleg Kopylov were also invited to attend the meeting.
On June 9, 2026, a delegation of the Secretariat of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, headed by CSTO Deputy Secretary General Valery Semerikov, took part in the 19th Meeting of Heads of Lead Counter-Terrorism Units of the Competent Authorities of the CIS Member States and Heads of National Structures Responsible for Coordinating Counter-Terrorism and Counter-Extremism Activities. The event was organized by the Anti-Terrorism Center of the CIS Member States.

On May 5, 2026, the CSTO Secretary General Talatbek Masadykov met with the Security Council Secretary of Russia Sergey Shoigu.
Talatbek Masadykov informed Sergey Shoigu about the outcomes of his meetings with the leadership of the CSTO member states held during the first half of the current year, as well as about the implementation of the Action Plan aimed at carrying out the decisions adopted at the November 2025 session of the CSTO Collective Security Council and the priority areas of the Organization’s activities during the chairmanship of the Russian Federation.
The interlocutors also discussed the agenda of the forthcoming meeting of the CSTO Committee of Security Council Secretaries scheduled for May 26, as well as other topical issues related to the Organization’s activities.
Russia’s chairmanship in the CSTO in 2026 is being carried out under the motto “Collective security in a multipolar world: a common goal and shared responsibility.”
