On December 15, this year, in Moscow, the CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zas had a meeting with retired Army General Mikhail Moiseyev, Chairman of the Russian Union of Veterans, former Chief of the General Staff of the Soviet Armed Forces. The State Secretary of the Union State of the Republic of Belarus and Russia Dmitry Mezentsev also took part in the meeting.
The leadership of the Russian Union of Veterans familiarized Stanislav Zas and Dmitry Mezentsev with the structure of the Union of Veterans, goals and objectives of the organization.
The meeting discussed the importance of expanding patriotic education of young people, the preservation of historical truth about the victory of the USSR in the Great Patriotic War and its leading role in defeating the aggressors in the World War II, strengthening ties with other veteran organizations in the former Soviet Union.
One of the significant topics of the meeting was the discussion of cooperation in the format of the CSTO and the Union State and the implementation of joint activities on veteran and patriotic issues.
