The active phase of the joint exercise with the Collective Rapid Deployment Forces of the Central Asian Region (CRDF CAR) “Frontier-2026” has begun at the Koktal training range in the Republic of Kazakhstan. During the exercise, the participating forces are practicing the preparation and conduct of combat operations to destroy illegal armed formations that have invaded the territory of a CSTO member state.
On September 11, 2026, a round table entitled “Kazakhstan–Central Asia–Greater Eurasia: resilience and security amid new challenges” was held at the Center for Social Conservative Policy. The event was organized by the CSTO Secretariat jointly with the Institute of China and Contemporary Asia of the Russian Academy of Sciences (ICCA RAS) and the Center for Social Conservative Policy (CSCP).
The event was attended by CSTO Secretary General Talatbek Masadykov, Director of the ICCA RAS Kirill Babaev, members of the CSTO Permanent Council and representatives of the academic and expert communities of the member states. The discussion was moderated by Yuri Shuvalov, Head of the Information and Public Relations Department of the CSTO Secretariat.
On September 4 this year, a round table entitled “CSTO–SCO: Security Space” was held as part of the business program of the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok. CSTO Secretariat representative Igor Panarin took part in the event.
The CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zas met with the Executive Secretary-Head of the Secretariat of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly Sergei Pospelov
January 30, 2020, a meeting between the CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zas and the Executive Secretary of the Secretariat of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly, Sergei Pospelov, took place in the CSTO Secretariat. The issues of interaction of the CSTO authorized organs and the Secretariat of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly in the field of legislative support of the Organization’s activities were discussed.
An exchange of views took place on a number of issues, including those related to the work on the draft Program of Activities of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly on the approximation and harmonization of the national legislation of the CSTO member states for 2021-2025, the proposals of the Kazakhstan side on the rotation of the post of Executive Secretary of the Parliamentary Assembly, implementation of documents developed by the Assembly in the CSTO member states, work on a single List of extremist and terrorist organizations in the CSTO, preparations for the 75th anniversary of the Victory in Great Patriotic War, Observation and Partnership in the CSTO, coordination at the international markets, the prospects for the development and adoption of the document, concerning the status of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly, the activities of the CSTO University League and other issues.
The general opinion was expressed that it was necessary to deepen the interaction of the CSTO working bodies and the Secretariat of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly, in particular, to invite parliamentarians of the CSTO member states to discuss issues important to the Organization, to provide mutual support and assistance in conducting specific events, and to strengthen the authority and influence of the CSTO in every way at the international level and in the member states of the Organization, to continuously exchange information.
