From October 13 to 16, 2025, the 23rd International Combat Sambo Tournament for the Cup of the Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, featuring law enforcement personnel from CSTO member states, was held at the Ognikovo Park Hotel (19 Ognikovo, Istra District, Moscow Region).
Today, the final stages of the command-and-staff exercise with the CSTO Peacekeeping Forces “Indestructible Brotherhood-2026” and the special exercise with the CSTO joint NBC protection and medical support formation “Barrier-2026” took place at the Losvido and Starodorozhsky training ranges in the Republic of Belarus.
On October 15–16, a CSTO, CIS and SCO conference on security issues in Central Asia and Afghanistan was held in Moscow as part of Russia’s CSTO chairmanship programme.
At the Losvido training range in the Republic of Belarus, peacekeeping units repelled a simulated enemy attack on a humanitarian convoy during the command-and-staff exercise with the CSTO Peacekeeping Forces “Indestructible Brotherhood-2026”.

The CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zas in Astana takes part in the VI Summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia

On October 13, this year, the CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zas takes part in the VI Summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia, which is taking place in the capital of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Astana. The event coincides with the 30th anniversary of the initiative to convene the Summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia and is chaired by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. The heads of state from 11 countries are taking part in the Summit.
The initiative of the Summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia was put forward by the Republic of Kazakhstan in 1992 at the 47th session of the UN General Assembly. The main goal and direction of activity is to strengthen cooperation through the development of multilateral approaches to ensuring peace and security in Asia. Since its establishment, membership of the Summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia has increased to 27 member states.
Participants of the VI Summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia adopted a Statement on the transformation of the forum into an international organization. This was stated by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev at the VI Summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia in Astana.
