The final stage of the installation of the central figure of the Rzhev Memorial to the Soviet Soldier has begun

The installation of the central figure has begun with the middle and upper parts of the bronze sculpture. The work was carried out under the supervision of the State Secretary of the Union State Grigory Rapota, Deputy Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Nikolai Ovsienko, Tver Region Governor Igor Rudeni, Director of the Victory Museum Alexander Shkolnik, WWII veterans and numerous journalists.
According to the organizers, now on the territory of the memorial, the work continues on the creation of a museum branch and an entrance lobby, landscaping and the creation of road infrastructure are being carried out. According to the creators, the Rzhev memorial will be the first largest monument dedicated to the feat of Soviet soldiers that has been created in the modern Russia. In scale and significance, it will stand on a par with such memorial complexes as “To the Heroes of the Battle of Stalingrad” on Mamaev Kurgan in Volgograd, “Defenders of the Soviet Arctic Circle during the Great Patriotic War” in the Murmansk Region, “Rear to the Front” in Magnitogorsk, “Monument to Sailor and Soldier " in Sevastopol," Poklonnaya Gora " in Moscow, Piskarev Memorial Cemetery in St. Petersburg and other iconic monuments. The created memorial will receive the status of a branch of the Victory Museum.
