THE 4TH OF JULY - PRESS CONFERENCE OF THE CSTO ACTING SECRETARY GENERAL VALERY SEMERIKOV

A multimedia press conference of the Acting Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization Valery Semerikov will be held on July 4, 2019 at 13.00 in the International Press Center of the INA (International News Agency) "Russia - Today"  (with video connection of press centers in Yerevan, Minsk, Nur-Sultan and Bishkek) on the theme "On the outcomes of the CSTO authorized organs meetings held in Bishkek, and on the results of special operations conducted in the Organization format".

In May-June of this year, in Bishkek, a series of intersessional meetings of the CSTO authorized organs - the Council of Ministers of Defense, the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs and the Committee of Secretaries of Security Councils were held. During these meetings important documents relating to the development of the Organization military component, the creation of a crisis response system were signed, and a public message to the foreign ministers of the NATO countries on enhancing mutual trust and cooperation was made.

Valery Semerikov will also tell about the results of special operations that are conducted in the CSTO format, in particular, such as a complex of operational and preventive measures under the code name “Mercenary” ("Naemnik"), "Illegal" (“Nelegal”), and the international counter-drug operation “Channel” ("Kanal").

The CSTO includes the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Republic of Kyrgyzstan, the Russian Federation, and the Republic of Tajikistan.
