The Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) considers it necessary to join efforts in the area of information security in order to promptly develop, under the UN auspices, rules and standards of conduct in the information space. This was announced on Wednesday by the CSTO Acting Secretary General Valery Semerikov. On the OSCE Forum for Security Cooperation he made a statement on “The CSTO activities in support of the OSCE commitments to ensure politico-military aspects of security”.
“We consider it necessary to join collective efforts in the area of information security. We attach particular importance to the promotion of the development and early adoption of universal rules, standards and principles of responsible conduct in the information space under the UN auspices,” Semerikov said.
He also informed that the CSTO is working on the formation of a Single list of organizations recognized as terrorist in the territory of their member states. The draft “Plan of collective actions of the CSTO member states in implementing the UN Global anti-terrorism strategy for 2019-2021” is undergoing the established procedure for approval by the CSTO supreme governing bodies.
