On June 10, 2026, a regular meeting of the CSTO Council of Foreign Ministers was held in Kazan (Russian Federation) under the chairmanship of the Russian side, with the participation of CSTO Secretary General Talatbek Masadykov. CIS Deputy Secretary General Denis Trefilov and SCO Deputy Secretary General Oleg Kopylov were also invited to attend the meeting.
On June 9, 2026, a delegation of the Secretariat of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, headed by CSTO Deputy Secretary General Valery Semerikov, took part in the 19th Meeting of Heads of Lead Counter-Terrorism Units of the Competent Authorities of the CIS Member States and Heads of National Structures Responsible for Coordinating Counter-Terrorism and Counter-Extremism Activities. The event was organized by the Anti-Terrorism Center of the CIS Member States.
A working meeting between CSTO Secretary General Talatbek Masadykov and Director of the Institute of China and Contemporary Asia of the Russian Academy of Sciences Kirill Babaev was held at the Secretariat of the Collective Security Treaty Organization.
From June 2 to 4, the Republic of Belarus hosted the second staff talks on the organization and conduct of the CSTO Peacekeeping Forces command-and-staff exercise “Indestructible Brotherhood 2026” and the special exercise “Barrier 2026” involving the CSTO Joint CBRN Protection and Medical Support Formation.

In the face of world challenges, increasing the CSTO's contribution to counteracting the distortion of the historical truth about the World War II is of particular importance, Stanislav Zas believes.
YEREVAN, May 8 - Sputnik. Secretary General of the Organization Stanislav Zas said in his greeting speech on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Great Victory in the Great Patriotic War that the joint actions of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) member states would allow blocking ominous trends in the international situation.
Zas noticed that this year the celebration of the Victory Day took place in an environment where humanity was facing a coronavirus pandemic and intensifying attempts to undermine the foundations of the world order that was laid down 75 years ago by the victorious states to rid future generations of the scourge of war.He noted that together we could strengthen common security, make a weighty contribution to maintaining peace and strengthening international security.

“Under these conditions, increasing CSTO’s contribution to countering the distortion of the historical truth about the Second World War and countering to subrogation of international rights comes to the sharp focus” – the Organization’s Secretary General said.
According to Zas, the Victory Day is a great holiday, common to all, a symbol of the unity of peoples before the threat of the fascism, their whole-hearted deed on the battlefields and selfless labor in the home front.
“We are proud of our fathers and grandfathers, who got rid the world of Nazism, and cherish the memory of their feat. We remember those who met their demise in battles, and those who helped to reach the Great Victory in the home front with their heroic labor,” he emphasized.
The CSTO is a regional international organization. According to the charter, activities of the organization are "strengthening peace, international and regional security and stability, collective defense of the independence, territorial integrity and sovereignty of member states." At the same time, countries give priority to achieving political goals rather than military means. The organization includes the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Russian Federation and the Republic of Tajikistan.
