05.11.2019To actively defend the memory of those who during the years of World War II gave their lives for their homeland, the State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin called on. He reminded his colleagues that in some European countries today monuments to Soviet soldiers are being demolished, calling this situation unacceptable. The CSTO parliamentarians, according to Volodin, should join in the fight against such manifestations on the venues of the Council of Europe.
“This is about protecting history, about protecting those who cannot protect themselves today. They stayed in Europe, these are our grandfathers, great-grandfathers. Here we all represent the countries that participated in this war, fighting against fascism, the “brown plague”. And, dear colleagues, we must do everything in order to protect the memory of those who today allow us to live, ”said Vyacheslav Volodin.
