On September 29–30, 2026, the 6th International Conference of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation on the spread of extremist ideology was held in Moscow. The CSTO delegation, comprising Umar Umarzoda, Head of the Department for Countering Challenges and Threats, and Igor Demchenko, Adviser to the Department, took part in the conference.
In the Russian Federation, at the Chebarkulsky training range, reconnaissance groups have begun practicing practical actions in designated areas as part of the CSTO special exercise with reconnaissance forces and assets “Search-2026”.
Today, a ceremony was held at the Chebarkulsky training range in the Russian Federation to open the command-and-staff exercise with the Collective Operational Reaction Forces of the Collective Security Treaty Organization “Interaction-2026” and the special exercises “Search-2026” and “Echelon-2026”.

In the year marking the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Second World War, we pay tribute to the heroic feat of the peoples who, at the cost of tens of millions of lives and countless shattered destinies, saved the world from enslavement and destruction by Nazism, fascism and militarism.
The war was unleashed by those who sought unchallenged global domination, depriving other peoples of freedom, national culture, identity and traditional values.
We bow our heads in memory of all those who perished. We express our sincere respect to surviving war veterans and home-front workers for the heroism and courage they displayed during the war years.
We resolutely condemn any attempts to distort the significance of the Great Victory and the role of the peoples of the CSTO, SCO and CIS member states in the defeat of fascism and militarism, as well as attempts to rehabilitate the ideas of Nazism and racial supremacy, justify genocide and other crimes against civilians, and promote radical extremist ideologies. We emphasize that crimes against humanity have no statute of limitations.
Preserving and objectively reflecting the historical truth about the Second World War is an essential condition for preventing the recurrence of such tragedies and strengthening peace, security and cooperation.
We welcome the resolution “Combating glorification of Nazism, neo-Nazism and other practices that contribute to fuelling contemporary forms of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance”, adopted annually by the UN General Assembly.
One of the most important outcomes of the Second World War was the establishment of the United Nations in 1945 as the foundation of the modern system of international relations. A lasting global peace is possible only through the unconditional observance by all states of international law and the purposes and principles of the UN Charter. We declare our readiness to further develop cooperation between the CSTO, SCO and CIS with the United Nations and its specialized agencies in areas of mutual interest.
Victory in the Second World War was achieved through the efforts of all countries and peoples that united in the struggle against a common threat. Today, our shared responsibility to the past and future is to spare future generations from the scourge of war and to do everything possible to prevent the recurrence of such terrible tragedies.
