On 21 May 2025, the CSTO member states held consultations by videoconferencing using the communications channels of the CSTO Crisis Response Centre under the chairmanship of the Russian Federation on the theme “On topical issues of arms control, disarmament and non-proliferation” (CADN), in which delegations of the CSTO member states, the CSTO Acting Deputy Secretary General Samat Ordabaev and members of the CSTO Secretariat took part.

Today in Minsk, Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff Colonel General Andrei Serdyukov took part in the events of the 12th International Exhibition of Armaments and Military Equipment “MILEX-2025” at the invitation of Lieutenant General Viktor Khrenin, Minister of Defense of the Republic of Belarus.

On May 19, 2025 in Bishkek, under the chairmanship of the Kyrgyz side, a meeting of the Council of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly was held, during which the Secretary General of the Organization Imangali Tasmagambetov made a report on the theme: “On the implementation of decisions (November 2024) session of the CSTO SCS and measures taken to counter challenges and threats to collective security”.

On May 12, 2025, in Moscow, in the Red Banner Hall of the Frunze Central House of the Russian Army, a solemn event dedicated to the 33rd anniversary of the signing of the Collective Security Treaty (May 15, 1992) was held.

The CSTO Secretariat hosted the 41st meeting of the CSTO Ministerial Council Working Group on Afghanistan 13.05.2025

On May 13, 2025, the 41st meeting of the Working Group on Afghanistan under the CSTO Ministerial Council was held with the participation of CSTO Deputy Secretary General Samat Ordabaev. The event was also attended by delegations of the Organization's member states and representatives of the UNOCT, the UNRCCA, the CIS ATC, the CIS Coordination Service of the CIS Council of Commanders of Border Troops and the ICRC.

There was a thorough exchange of views on the current situation in Afghanistan, noting the continuing high potential risks and threats emanating from the territory of that country.

An opinion was expressed on the need for the CSTO member states to continue humanitarian and economic support for the population of Afghanistan by the CSTO member states.

The meeting participants expressed a common position on the expediency of continuing to monitor the situation in Afghanistan and to promote the establishment of peace processes in this country.

At the end of the meeting, the Protocol of the meeting was adopted.
