On July 4, 2025, a delegation of the CSTO Secretariat visited the Central Military-Patriotic Park of Culture and Recreation of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation "Patriot".
The Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov received the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the CSTO member states and the Secretary General of the Organization in Cholpon-Ata on June 30. The meeting was attended by the Foreign Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia and Tajikistan.
On June 30, 2025, a regular meeting of the CSTO Council of Foreign Ministers was held in Cholpon-Ata (the Kyrgyz Republic) under the chairmanship of the Kyrgyz side, which was attended by the Organization's Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov.
The newly appointed CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zas got to work
On January 9, this year, Stanislav V. ZAS, appointed by the CSTO Collective Security Council to the post of Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, got to work.
Given that in 2020 Russia presides over the CSTO, the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Alexander Pankin introduced the new Secretary General of the Organization to the CSTO Secretariat.
Addressing the Secretariat staff, Stanislav ZAS said that the appointment of the CSTO Secretary General is a great honor and great responsibility for him. “I see my main task in honestly and in good faith fulfilling my responsibilities, guided exclusively by the interests of ensuring collective security, so that the CSTO can serve its member states and their peoples even more effectively,” said the CSTO Secretary General Stanislav ZAS.
Brief biographical information
ZAS Stanislav Vasilievich
He was born in 1964 in the Chernihiv region in Ukraine. In 1985, he graduated with honors from the Baku Higher Combined Arms Command School, in 1996 graduated with honors and a gold medal from the Military Academy of the Republic of Belarus, in 2005 graduated with honors and a gold medal from the Military Academy of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. He is a Candidate of Military Sciences.
He served in various positions in the Armed Forces. The military rank is lieutenant general.
On August 29, 2008, by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus, he was appointed to the position of Deputy State Secretary of the Security Council of the Republic of Belarus. In November 2015, he was appointed to the position of State Secretary of the Security Council of the Republic of Belarus.
From January 1, 2020, by decision of the CSTO Collective Security Council, he was appointed to the post of Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization for a period of three years.
He was awarded the Order of the Fatherland III degree and many medals.
