The CSTO Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov told RIA Novosti, commenting on the terrorist attack in “Crocus City Hall” that terrorism was used in hybrid warfare, provoked inter-ethnic and inter-religious discord, so the CSTO member states needed tools to counter this phenomenon.
In the period from 12 to 13 March 2024, in the Collective Security Treaty Organization, a strategic command and staff training is being conducted under the supervision of Colonel-General Andrei Serdyukov, Chief of the Joint Staff, during which issues related to stabilizing the situation in the Central Asian region of collective security in the context of the growing threat of a crisis situation are being worked out.

The event was attended by the Head of the Department for the Study of Regional Security Problems of the Strategic Research Centre under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Sayhamid Sharifzoda, the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Tajikistan to the CSTO, Khasan Sultonov, and representatives of the Tajik media.

16.02.2023On February 16, this year, the CSTO Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov took part in a meeting of Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov with the heads of executive bodies of the CIS, the CSTO, the ECE and the Union State. The meeting was attended by the Secretary General of the Commonwealth of Independent States Sergey Lebedev, the Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission Mikhail Myasnikovich, and the State Secretary of the Union State of the Republic of Belarus and Russia Dmitry Mezentsev.
The parties have discussed the results of the activities of these associations in 2022 and the prospects for cooperation in the coming period.
There was an exchange of views on current international and regional topics. Particular attention was paid to the integration processes in the Eurasian region and the establishment of closer inter-organizational contacts in the areas of overlapping and complementary competencies.
