Sessions of the Collective Security Council

On November 8, a session of the CSTO Collective Security Council was held in Astana and a joint meeting of the CFM, the CMD and the CSSC of the CSTO was held

The heads of state discussed the problems of international and regional security, the improvement of mechanisms for countering challenges and threats and the development of the military potential of the Organization.

The Declaration of the Collective Security Council was adopted, which reaffirms the determination to continue to coordinate the foreign policy positions of the CSTO member states and ensure the achievement of the Organization’s goals of strengthening peace and creating favorable conditions for the comprehensive development of our countries, stresses the need to strengthen the central role of the UN Security Council for maintaining international peace and security and reaffirms its commitment to avnoy and indivisible security, concern is expressed over the current situation around the Treaty on the Elimination of Medium-Range and Shorter-Range Missiles in connection with US declarations of intention to withdraw from it.

Trainings of Collective Forces

In the Issyk-Kul region of Kyrgyzstan, an active phase of the CSTO large-scale anti-drug trainings - “Thunder-2019” ("Grom-2019") took place, in which the CSTO Acting Secretary General Valery Semerikov took part
Special forces from the CSTO member states, in close contact with operational personnel and units of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as the United Russian Air Base deployed in the city of Kant, in conditions as close to combat as possible, improved their skills and interaction issues when conducting joint special operations, and the headquarters of the leadership as part of the operational group from among the representatives of the CSTO member states worked out the issues of planning decision-making and organization of management of actions by units.
