The CSTO Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov told RIA Novosti, commenting on the terrorist attack in “Crocus City Hall” that terrorism was used in hybrid warfare, provoked inter-ethnic and inter-religious discord, so the CSTO member states needed tools to counter this phenomenon.
In the period from 12 to 13 March 2024, in the Collective Security Treaty Organization, a strategic command and staff training is being conducted under the supervision of Colonel-General Andrei Serdyukov, Chief of the Joint Staff, during which issues related to stabilizing the situation in the Central Asian region of collective security in the context of the growing threat of a crisis situation are being worked out.

On 11 March 2024, the CSTO Secretariat hosted a round table on "Cooperation in the Information and Analytical Sphere to Ensure Collective Security" on the occasion of the Tajik Press Day. The event was attended by the Head of the Department for the Study of Regional Security Problems of the Strategic Research Centre under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Sayhamid Sharifzoda, the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Tajikistan to the CSTO, Khasan Sultonov, and representatives of the Tajik media.
Vice-Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia Meets with CSTO Secretary General

On February 27, A. Simonyan, Vice Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, met with CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zas, who is in Armenia on a working visit.
The meeting was attended by Armenian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Kocharian and Mr. Biyagov, Armenian Representative to the Collective Security Treaty Organization.
The Vice Speaker congratulated Mr. Zas on his appointment as CSTO Secretary General.
Mr. Simonyan noted that the CSTO is one of the most important elements of the security system of our country, and Armenia is interested in the effective work of this structure. In his opinion, the activities of the CSTO should contribute to maintaining balance and peace in our region.
The Vice Speaker of the National Assembly highlighted the holding of the CSTO Council and the CSTO PA plenary in Yerevan last year. He stressed that the Armenian delegation is actively working in the CSTO PA, directing its efforts to improving relations.
Mr. Zas, thanking for the reception in the National Assembly and congratulations, expressed readiness for cooperation. The interlocutors also addressed issues of cooperation within the framework of the CSTO.
