From 1 to 23 April 2024, the Military Academy of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation hosted the regular IX Training Courses of the CSTO member states for senior staff and leading specialists of defense departments, law enforcement agencies, security council apparatuses, security agencies and special services, as well as bodies authorized to prevent and eliminate emergency situations.

The 19th meeting of the CSTO Interstate Commission on Military-Economic Cooperation was held in Minsk 10.09.2021

On September 9, 2021, Minsk hosted the 19th meeting of the Interstate Commission on Military-Economic Cooperation of the Collective Security Treaty Organization.

The event was chaired by the Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation, Chairman of the Interstate Commission on Military-Economic Cooperation Yuri Borisov.

The meeting was attended by CSTO Deputy Secretary General Valery Semerikov.

The results of the activities of the Commission on the implementation of the decisions of the XVIII meeting of the Interstate Commission on Military-Economic Cooperation, which took place in the mode of videoconference in November last year, were considered. Following the discussion of the Agenda issues, a number of important decisions were made on the further development of military-economic cooperation within the framework of the CSTO.

Interstate Commission on Military-Economic Cooperation supported the draft Action Plan for the development of cooperation and integration of enterprises and organizations of the defense industry (military-industrial complex) of the CSTO member states until 2030, which was prepared by the base organization in the field of development of cooperation and integration ties of enterprises and organizations of the defense-industrial (military-industrial) complexes of the CSTO member states ("Interstate Corporation for Development").

The members of the Commission approved the Interstate Commission on Military-Economic Cooperation Work Plan for 2022.

The proposal to organize the basic congress and exhibition event of the CSTO - the International Forum for Collective Security - "Interpolitech". The members of the Commission approved the draft of the relevant Decision of the CSTO Collective Security Council, prepared by the CSTO Secretariat in conjunction with the general operator of the CSTO advertising and exhibition activities (BIZON Association of Exhibition Companies LLC) and the Base Organization (Interstate Corporation for Development) also received support.

Following the meeting of the Commission, CSTO Deputy Secretary General Valery Semerikov, speaking to journalists, noted that the states of the Collective Security Treaty Organization intend to additionally equip the Collective Rapid Reaction Force (CSTO CRRF) with modern weapons and equipment. According to him, the corresponding plan for equipping the CSTO CRRF is planned to be considered at the next session of the Collective Security Council on September 16 in Tajikistan.

Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Chairman of the Interstate Commission on Military-Economic Cooperation Yuri Borisov, in turn, said that the attention of the heads of the national units of the Interstate Commission on Military-Economic Cooperation should be focused on "not swinging", but to start implementing this Plan.

“The tense situation in the Central Asian region pushes us to this. The risk of a mass exodus of refugees from Afghanistan to neighboring states has grown. The states that are members of the Collective Security Treaty Organization have sufficient resources to prevent terrorists disguised as refugees from entering the territory of Afghanistan's neighboring countries, ” said Yuri Borisov.

It was decided to hold the next XX Interstate Commission on Military-Economic Cooperation meeting in September-October 2022 in the Russian Federation.

The CSTO Interstate Commission on Military-Economic Cooperation was established by the Decision of the CSTO Collective Security Council of June 23, 2005.

One of the main functions of the Commission is to develop recommendations and make decisions aimed at ensuring multilateral military-economic (technical) cooperation in priority areas of interaction. Among them - the development and implementation of long-term programs of military-economic (technical) cooperation, the preservation of specialization and cooperation in the production of military products, the creation of joint ventures (organizations) for the development, production, modernization, repair and disposal of military products, as well as joint research and development work on the development and modernization of military products.
