30.03.2022On March 30, this year, Colonel General Anatoli Sidorov, the Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff, who is in Yerevan in the framework of his working visit to the Armenian capital, and the Defense Minister Suren Papikyan had a working meeting in Yerevan.
In the course of the meeting, they discussed the trends and prospects for the development of the military component of the Collective Security Treaty Organization.
The Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff presented a draft Action Plan aimed at improving crisis response for approval to the Head of the Defense Ministry of the Republic of Armenia, this year's CSTO Chairmanship. The document was agreed upon during the consultations of the defense ministries of the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tajikistan on March 24.
Chairman of the CSTO Defense Ministerial Council - Defense Minister of the Republic of Armenia Suren Papikyan approved the Plan, which will be sent to the member States of the Organization in accordance with the established procedure.
The CSTO Chief of the Joint Staff and the Armenian Minister of Defense also discussed the coordination of practical implementation of CSTO decisions in the sphere of military cooperation.
