From 1 to 23 April 2024, the Military Academy of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation hosted the regular IX Training Courses of the CSTO member states for senior staff and leading specialists of defense departments, law enforcement agencies, security council apparatuses, security agencies and special services, as well as bodies authorized to prevent and eliminate emergency situations.

On 22 April 2024, the CSTO Secretariat hosted a working meeting between the Deputy Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, Samat Ordabaev, and the Special Representative of the UN Secretary General for Central Asia, Head of the UN Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA), Kakha Imnadze.

At the second stage of the special training “Echelon-2019” with the forces and means of material and technical support of the CSTO member states at the training ground of the 333rd Mulino Combat Training Center, issues of organizing material and technical support of the formations of the CSTO Collective Rapid Reaction Forces during a joint operation to localize the armed conflict were worked out.

Subdivisions of the consolidated logistics battalion worked out the deployment of a field fuel depot on the ground. Using pipe-laying machines from the unloading station to the field fuel depot, a field pipeline with a length of more than five kilometers was laid. This unique military infrastructure object can contain up to 600 m3 of fuel and up to 10 tons of oil and grease at a time.

In the next area, the department of the mobile bakery PHK-7K within two hours established a full cycle of bread production. During the special training "Echelon-2019", military officers of the logistics team of the Western Military District baked more than 7 tons of fresh bread. Such a volume made it possible to provide two divisions with bread, which, for example, corresponds to the daily needs of the residents of a small regional center.

A wide range of tasks were fulfilled by military doctors. A pneumoframed medical company with 50 seats was deployed at the training ground. For the period of the training, the medical company was strengthened by a specialized medical team. In the course of conducting artifical military operations, the issues of evacuation of the wounded from the battlefield, their reception, sorting and the provision of medical care were worked out. The throughput capability of a medical company, whose specialists can provide qualified medical care with specialized elements, is up to two hundred wounded per day.

Other units and military bases worked out the issues of replenishing the compensation of missiles, ammunition and other facilities, as well as organizing the maintenance and repair of weapons and military equipment.
“There are no artificialities during the practical development of the introductory trainings: all units operate in full force and fully carry out the tasks,” said Colonel General Anatoly Sidorov, head of the CSTO Joint Staff, who visited today various sections of the training ground where military training tasks were carried out.

He also assessed the actions of units. “The level of personnel training is very high. The training is attended by representatives of all six member states of the Collective Security Treaty Organization. The joint work will contribute to the improvement of the material and technical support system for the CSTO Collective Rapid Reaction Forces, ”said the Head of the CSTO Joint Staff.

The training, led by Deputy Commander of the Western Military District, Lieutenant General Andrei Bulyga, is attended by military officers of the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Russian Federation, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Tajikistan and the CSTO Joint Staff Task Force. There is only about 900 people and more than 250 units of equipment.

The special training "Echelon-2019" with the forces and means of material and technical support of the CSTO member states is carried out as part of the unified concept of the CSTO joint operational-strategic training “Combat Brotherhood-2019”. The trainings are defined by the plan for joint training activities of control bodies command, and force and means generation of the CSTO collective security system for 2019, a plan approved by the Council of Ministers of Defense and the CSTO Committee of Secretaries of Security Councils.
