The CSTO Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov told RIA Novosti, commenting on the terrorist attack in “Crocus City Hall” that terrorism was used in hybrid warfare, provoked inter-ethnic and inter-religious discord, so the CSTO member states needed tools to counter this phenomenon.
In the period from 12 to 13 March 2024, in the Collective Security Treaty Organization, a strategic command and staff training is being conducted under the supervision of Colonel-General Andrei Serdyukov, Chief of the Joint Staff, during which issues related to stabilizing the situation in the Central Asian region of collective security in the context of the growing threat of a crisis situation are being worked out.

The CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zas is going to visit the Republic of Kazakhstan to meet with the country's top political and military leadership
07.03.2021On March 9-10, this year, the Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization Stanislav Zas will visit the Republic of Kazakhstan. In the course of the visit he will meet with the Ministers of Defense and Foreign Affairs, as well as the Secretary of the Security Council.
As expected, the CSTO Secretary General will be received by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
In the course of the upcoming meetings, Stanislav Zas will inform about the planned activities to implement the decisions (December 2020) of the CSC session and the implementation of the priority areas proposed by the Republic of Tajikistan for the period of the chairmanship in the Organization in 2021.
Along with this, it is expected that the situation in the Central Asian region of collective security, issues of coordination of the foreign policy activities of the CSTO member states will be discussed.
The parties will discuss preparations for the upcoming in April and May of this year regular meetings of the statutory bodies.
